From looking into the different styles of online media as part of cross-media products, I have decided on features that I wish to use in my own online site. I have also discovered features that I feel may not necessarily fit my brief and publication, and hence I will not be using them.
In the case of 'Bella', I liked the bold colour schemes and cohesion with the language used on the print form. I liked the use of pink as I felt that it would allow me to adhere to an obvious convention used often with this genre of publication. I wish to incorporate lots of colourful imagery as this promotes an exciting and visually pleasing aesthetic.
Whilst I think the aesthetic of 'Entertainment Weekly' online was sleek and sophisticated, I wish to promote a more exciting and fun site, as I am trying to target a mass-market. Using lots of imagery and mainstream adverts, I will hopefully ensure that my target readership enjoy navigating my site.
I aim to create a toolbar with tabs on it so that my site is easy-to-navigate, as well as this, a toolbar will allow me to adhere to conventions I have seen throughout my research.
With regards to video content, I aim to include a celebrity interview, as I feel this would provide a sense of cohesion across my products, as well as constructing a representation that is typical of this sort of publication and online site.
